I have whole sweet potatoes that have been frozen to keep them good longer. I’ve never frozen sweet potatoes before, so I’m not sure what is the best way to thaw them before using. Should I just put them in the refrigerator for a few days and let them slowly defrost? Should I leave them out on the counter? Should I defrost them in the microwave or with warm water? I’m not in any hurry to use them, but I’d like to use them some day!
The best way to dethaw anything is in the refrigerator. In a plastic bag immersed in water is the best quick way.
I would never recommend microwaving, and you should never, ever defrost at room temperature.
if you have time leave them out, if you don’t you can try the defrost button on your microwave.
I hope you par boiled them first.
Just put them in the fridge to thaw. In repsonse to the poster above me. You do NOT de-thaw in the fridge. De-thawing is Freezing.
