My daughter 27 just bought an older home. the kitchen needs alittle updating. It has brown cabinets that she?

is keeping but it has a white counter top w/green specks in it. She has to replace the flooring. What color should she do? She is painting the walls a med sage green to blend w/counter tops also. Her refrigerator, dishwasher are white.I am thinking a white linoleum. She doesn’t have alot of money.

I’d go for a wood pattern in a colour that goes with the cabinets or a little lighter, but if the room doesn’t get a lot of natural light that could be too dark. Either that or an off white with some green or brown in the pattern. Even a pattern of grey with green or brown in it would be okay and go nicely with the sage. Not plain white, it’s just too hard to keep looking clean. If she isn’t aware of it already, she should go look at Home Depot’s vinyl flooring that comes in planks. They stick to each other but not the floor. They look good, they’re a good price(about $2/s.f. here in Canada), and are easy to install with minimal tools. I have them in my kitchen, living room and bedroom and am very happy with them. Their advantage over sheet vinyl is that they’re easy to DIY which is not true of sheet vinyl which is can be very difficult for an amateur to get right, and unlike laminate they are unaffected by water.
